Stevie P. in Venice, Florida is making the world a better place.
On December 1, 2005, Stevie made a wish on her RandomRegistration form . Stevie wished for a brand new state-of-the-art ELMO overhead projector for Memorial Elementary, a school that still struggles in the aftermath of hurricane Charley. Stevie wished for this projector for Memorial Elementary because it was the most coveted item on the holiday wish list of her teachers at Pine View School. Wrote Stevie on her Randomkid registration form, “I don't want those who suffered in hurricane Charlie to ever feel forgotten.”
Thanks to an Anonymous Fortune 1000 Company that RandomKid contacted, Stevie's wish came true.
RandomKid surprised Stevie at her school on December 11, 2005 to grant her wish and give her the full RockStar treatment.
Here's RandomKid's President Anne Ginther with Newly Anointed RandomRockStar Stevie P. addressing hundreds of kids at Pine View School in Sarasota, Florida. Stevie's wish was granted and she was given a certificate for the projector to present to Memorial Elementary's Principal Principal Dale Wolgast. She was adorned with traditional RockStar Bling that included a limited edition Random RockStar T-shirt, Sunglasses (of course!), a PDA (made of chocolate), and a Vintage Limousine, courtesy of Double Eagle Limousines to take Stevie and her peeps up to Memorial Elementary.
Ginther rallied the crowd shouting, “RandomKid celebrates the POWER of ANYone! All of you here have great power within you! Please go to randomkid.org and let us unleash that power to help you make this world a better place! Let me hear you say 'I'VE GOT THE POWER!'”
Throngs of kids shouted back, “I'VE GOT THE POWER!”
Stevie and her entourage were then whisked away in the limousine. On the hour drive up to memorial Stevie gave her first RockStar autograph on the certificate for the projector she was about to present to Mr. Wolgast.
This 11-year-old RockStar was welcomed by hundreds of kids at Memorial Elementary in true RockStar fashion. After being escorted from the Limo, Stevie presented the certificate to Memorial's Principal, Dale Wolgast. Mr. Wolgast was FLOORED! He knew all about ELMO projectors and excitedly told one of the newspaper reporters just how cool this projector is and all of its wonderful features. He said he's going to keep it in a special place and make sure everyone has an opportunity to enjoy it.
After all the hoopla, Pine View School treated seven 5th graders from Memorial plus Stevie and 2 of her friends to lunch at Pizza Hut. They were driven in the RockStar limo after a quick photo session. Upon returning from lunch, their driver gave them each their own photo—proof to friends and family that they were a RockStar, along with Stevie, for the day. The RandomKids excitedly got back in the limo and started autographing each others' pictures! A BIG Thank You to our generous anonymous donor, Double Eagle Limousine, and all the RandomOrganizers who helped make this a day these kids won't soon forget!

What does it mean to be a RandomRockstar? It means that you are CENTER STAGE that day! We have a network of RandomParents, RandomGoGetters, and RandomDoGooders who are ready for our RandomCall. They'll help us give you a day you won't soon forget!
What's the catch? You just need to be a registered RandomKid (link to Rockstar form) so we have a way of contacting your parents, getting their permission, and then planning the special day for you!
If it's not a contest, then how am I selected? Randomly! The point is that YOU are valued as you are today!
Why do this? In celebrating children for their unique RandomNess, there's no better way than to pick a RandomKid and make a big deal out of him or her. That way, any RandomKid can think, "I could be next," "That could be me," "I am worth celebrating!"
