Last month, we were fortunate to meet a young man, Sibiri Khoumbem. He is now studying in the Westchester County area, but prior to this, he hails from a small village in Burkina Faso. His life experiences are incredibly inspirational! After hearing his story, we decided that there must be some way that we could help this individual bring aid to the people of his village. Here’s where we hope you come in… The Human Rights Club at Eastchester High School is organizing an event which will give Sibiri Khoumbem the opportunity to share his story with students from various Human Rights Clubs in lower Westchester. We would like to invite you to join us on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 from 4-6:00 p.m. at Eastchester High School. The afternoon will allow us the chance to hear a truly inspirational story and then work collaboratively to help bring relief to the villagers in Burkina Faso. We imagine that as a collective whole we can have a remarkable impact! For this small village, we hope to raise money in order to buy LifeStraws for the villagers. As Burkina Faso lacks a clean water supply, LifeStraws can help the village have clean water. Through selling the Vapur "Anti-Water Bottle," we hope to raise enough funds to have LifeStraws for the whole village.
