World Issue: Environment
Solution : The ANTI-BOTTLE Project
The students in Miss. Carr's third-grade class at Montlieu Elementary have been learning about their environment and the important role water plays in our communities. On April 27th the elementary students will be joined by Welborn Middle and Andrews High on their local greenway as part of a community event. Greenway Day features a variety of scientific activities hosted by UNC-Greensboro's GK-12 program, funded by the National Science Foundation. During the day the class will offer the bottles as both a sustainable alternative to disposable containers and as a fundraising method for Potters for Peace. Potters for Peace is a US-based non-profit that works in two clay-related fields: working with subsistence potters in Central America and working throughout the world to assist with the establishment of factories that produce ceramic water filters.
