What began as a school program has grown to a broader village development program. Currently we work with over 11,000 family members in eighteen rural Cambodian villages, effecting change through comprehensive and innovative empowerment programs. That s where fish ponds come in. Together we dig them, allow them to fill and stock them with fish. From there all kinds of things happen from gardens, to food, to something to sell at market in order to make a living. Through Sustainable Cambodia s innovative programs, Cambodian villages become self-sustaining communities no longer dependent on long-term support. Sustainable Cambodia is a 501(c)(3)nonprofit. Our staff is entirely indigenous Cambodians. All non-Cambodians in the organization are unpaid volunteers.

Every day you are connected with a whole village of families who will have water for their daily needs. Their children will attend school and learn for the first time in their lives! Their children will attend school and learn for the first time in their lives! You will have planted the seeds of sustainable development that will grow over the years. And who knows what substantial contributions these young people may create in their lives...because of you. Most importantly, you will understand more about deserving people who may live dramatically different daliy lives from yours...but who share the same goals of living in peace and prosperity in their communities. You will have given the lasting, immeasurable gift of compassion and service. These rural families will feel connected to a world where young people on the other side of the planet care about the quality of their lives and the futures of their children. You may enjoy seeing video interviews with a few SC International Volunteers who have spent many months onsite in Cambodia with our programs. Many of these young people have returned to their homes to pursue life work in Public Health and Sustainable Development. Art Exhibit with shared art from Cambodian students: all proceeds go to sponsor a solution project.
