I want to take an initiative to tackle plastic pollution. With zillion ideas in my mind I want to team up and do the best possibly I can. I want to live a zero waste lifestyle. I also wwant to raise funds to clean up the ocean and to bring up plastic free and package free products, to plant trees, to find new ways to conserve energy and other stuff. Dharani means earth in Sanskrit. This project is a initiative to protect the earth in the best possible way. more

Dolphins Quench the Thirst

The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. In support of this vision, we at Northwoods Park Middle School are going to be selling environmentally friendly water bottles to benefit children on 3 continents. This project will bring safe drinking water to over 600 students at 5 Primary and Middle Schools in Guatemala, Tanzania, and India. Unfortunately, for every six water bottles we use, only one makes it to the recycling bin. The rest are sent to landfills. Or, even worse, they end up as trash on the land and in rivers, lakes, and the ocean. Plastic bottles take many hundreds of years to disintegrate. Nearly one billion people lack access to safe water and 2.5 billion do not have improved sanitation. The health and economic impacts are staggering. It is our hope that by selling these anti-bottles, we can raise awareness and eliminate single use water bottles from our campus and community. These VAPUR water bottles are BPA-free, dishwasher and freezer safe, and can be rolled up to fit in your pocket, purse or schoolbag. These would make great gifts as well! We're going to sing "Don't Stop Believing" by Journey, inspired by the Glee soundtrack. We even have dance moves to match our vocal stylings. We may not be old enough to drive, but we are old enough to change the world. Please donate and sponsor our act! Dreams To Life

Van Meter High School's National Honor Society is raising money to provide inner city, and/or low-income students with technology that will better their education and future. We are currently in the process of organizing a silent auction event that is to take place in April 2011. We are selling "Dreams to Life" t-shirts, and taking donations. Our starting goal is to raise $6,000 for our current project, The King Dreamers Project. We will be supplying them with two Mac Desktops, four Flip cameras, two Canon Powershot cameras, and one iTouch. We appreciate your support for our cause! more
