Safe Haven Homes for Abused Children in GHANA

A non-governmental organization (NGO) here in GHANA. In the facility we have 147 children. The facility has eight dormitory rooms to house the 147 children. There are 40 staff to care for them 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Most of the children enter the Orphanage because their parents either live on the street or are deceased. The children mostly come from Ghana, with a few being from Liberia. They come from all types of backgrounds and religions but we all live together as one family. If it weren't for our facility, these children would have nothing.... no education, no roof over their heads, no food in their bellies. They would be forced to sell things in the market to bring in extra money for food and rent. Many of these children in our facility have been sexually abused, starved, some even left for dead. Some of the children have physical disabilities and have been deemed "unlovable" by their own parents. Currently we are in need of funds for foundation due to the fact that the only facility we have right now is definitely in a very bad condition. We need medication, food, clothing and recreational activities for rehabilitative purposes to boost the orphans mental abilities. However, the worse thing that we are going through now is, the fact that we are being kicked out of the facility by the Government because the roof of the building is leaking and they want us to show proof of adequate funds, which is $30,500 Dollar USD to build a newer one. On behalf of me, staffs and the orphans here in Luist Great Love Orphanage, we ask that you kindly come to our aid, because your help can make a significant contribution to the life of the children and the operation of the Orphanage. Please pray for Luist Great Love Orphanage Home as we look forward to hearing from you. We are excited to see how God will provide for the children of the Luist Great Love Orphanage. We the Great Love Orphanage are so happy and grateful for your assistant and donations you are about to take towards helping the needy. We pray that God almighty will bless you with whatever heart desired you wish from him. Thank you so much, Right now our website is unavailable due to the insufficient funds to pay for subscription and we are sorry that you can't make the donations through our website. You can make a wire transfer to us via MoneyGram or Western Union Money Transfer (WUMT) with the details below; Name: LUIST TERRY Address: 318 Teshie Nungua Road, Accra, Ghana. Sam's World Changers Talent Show

SMITH’S GOT TALENT! (and we want to see it!) Sam’s World Changers, an after-school club of 4-6th grade Samantha Smith Elementary students are planning a \"Sam’s World Changing Talent Show\" for the evening of Friday, May 20th. This talent show has a twist… each act will have the opportunity to create their very own world-changing webpage that can show video of their act, or just tell family and friends about what they’re doing to make the world a better place, and ask for sponsors for their act in the show. The only minimum requirement is that the act puts out their best world changing efforts to JOIN US in using our Talent to benefit the American Red Cross: Japan Relief, Kids with cancer at Seattle Children’s Hospital, and the National Wildlife Federation. Saving Trees A Pencil At A Time

Our mission is to save trees, one pencil at a time. Many trees are cut down a year, as much as Twenty Million, and with only about 500 million trees left. So this means in about 250 years there will be no trees left and trees are a main part of oxygen on the earth, and with no oxygen theres no breathing. With the averge person using about 75-125 pencils a year id say its time to get some new way to make pencils thats where smencils come in they are pencils made out of newspaper that come in scents that makes writing much more exciting for kids, we can save the earth one tree at a time. :) more

School Teaching Garden - We Need Votes

Our school, Alamo Elementary in California, is nominated for a $50,000 Grant through Clorox Power a Bright Future to create our dream teaching garden. This contest awards the grand prize to the school with the most votes. We want to build a teaching garden at our school to provide experiential lessons in nature, science, and environment. If we win, our school PTA will transfer the money allocated to the garden, to our sister school in an underprivileged community to purchase basic educational and home care needs. We wish we could share more with them but the contest rules require all prize money be spent on the project nominated. Please help us reach #1 - all it takes is your vote. Plus, spread the news to all your friends. Let's show how schools can support other schools. It's Simple. Text code 2653pbf to 95248 or/and go online to register at www.powerabrightfuture.com and make your vote for Alamo Elementary School. more
