Hey everyone! im Garrett and this project is in honor for my brother. He Has one of the rarest diseases in the world. Mitochandrial disease. He has spent months and months in the hospital. My goal for this project is to help people like my brother in the hospital. Making their stay more comfortable be it hygenic goods, teddy bears, blankets, fans, anything that will make their stay more comfortable! more

Childhood Cancer: Every Kid A Hero

Small backpacks filled with kid friendly and/or camp related items can be sponsored for $300. Each Sponsor (or partial sponsor) gets to fill each bag in order to make it more personalized. Possible items may include: Disposable camera, small photo book (to put their pictures from camp in, of course!), craft kit, coloring supplies, artwork, a frisbee, hacky sacks, desserts, toys, etc. I am going to the school district, businesses, friends, and family for support with my project. The kids signed up for camp will get to keep the bags. It\'s simple, but fun and will bring as much a smile to your face as to the child receiving it. All the money raised will benefit The Blank Children\'s Hematology/Oncology Clinic by providing iPads that will stay in the clinic to help entertain and help keep patients calm. Hundreds of kids will have the opportunity to use them and will make their visit, a little more fun. more

I want to take an initiative to tackle plastic pollution. With zillion ideas in my mind I want to team up and do the best possibly I can. I want to live a zero waste lifestyle. I also wwant to raise funds to clean up the ocean and to bring up plastic free and package free products, to plant trees, to find new ways to conserve energy and other stuff. Dharani means earth in Sanskrit. This project is a initiative to protect the earth in the best possible way. more

Dolphins Quench the Thirst

The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. In support of this vision, we at Northwoods Park Middle School are going to be selling environmentally friendly water bottles to benefit children on 3 continents. This project will bring safe drinking water to over 600 students at 5 Primary and Middle Schools in Guatemala, Tanzania, and India. Unfortunately, for every six water bottles we use, only one makes it to the recycling bin. The rest are sent to landfills. Or, even worse, they end up as trash on the land and in rivers, lakes, and the ocean. Plastic bottles take many hundreds of years to disintegrate. Nearly one billion people lack access to safe water and 2.5 billion do not have improved sanitation. The health and economic impacts are staggering. It is our hope that by selling these anti-bottles, we can raise awareness and eliminate single use water bottles from our campus and community. These VAPUR water bottles are BPA-free, dishwasher and freezer safe, and can be rolled up to fit in your pocket, purse or schoolbag. These would make great gifts as well!
