Jumping the Hurdle

Hi everybody! Recently I have been thinking about things that really matter to me and last week it really hit me. Like most people, I have spent my entire life shocked by the amount of poverty and destruction that many people from all over the world live in. But today I have decided to be unlike most people. Tomorrow I want to be able to tell someone that I made a difference, even if it is small, in someone's life. So, my goal is to raise 10000 dollars for the Right to Play foundation. Right To Play is dedicate to bringing children and communities together through the power of sports. My goal is to raise money by sponsoring sports events and play days at my school on local Rec Centers near where I live. I hope this inspires at least some of you to reach out and make a difference. Wether it is helping me with my efforts or starting you own project! more

Life Straws for Burkina Faso

In our high school and possibly those around the Westchester County area, we hope to sell Vapur Anti- Bottles in order to raise enough money to support a whole village with LifeStraws. In Burkina Faso there is a huge lack of clean water, but with the aid of LifeStraws, one village can prosper for a year. Unfortunately, we currently do not have the specific on the cost of these bottles, but as soon as this project is up and running, updates will be available. more

Lone Tree Gardens

In a vacant lot in Des Moines, the Lone Tree Gardeners get to work. This community garden has been a source of fresh produce for a core of 25 youth, as well as those who receive fresh produce from our local food pantry. This past year we donated more than 50 lbs of produce (every 1 lb is 3 meals). Next summer, we will do better. more
